Microsoft to unveil Project Pink Phones Today
Last week, Microsoft gave out invites to various media houses for a special event scheduled today - April 12. The event invite didn't mention anything but simply the text - It's time to share. Most speculations pointed at the long anticipated Project Pink phones Turtle and Pure and recently, Microsoft's Webcast link proved them correct.
The Event Webcast page carries event artwork image in which one of the phone Turtle is clearly visible. As per PhoneScoop's report, SanDisk quietly confirmed that Pink phones will support microSD cards. The two new social networking phones Turtle and Pure do have some resemblance with Palm Pre.
Some of the Windows Phone 7 features would be imminent in these new Pink phones and we can obviously expect the best of Live Tiles interface. Interestingly, this event takes place immediately after Apple's iPhone OS 4.0 sneak peek that took place last weekend.
We don't know if any new services along with the Pink phones would be announced but Microsoft is surely pulling socks to grab a major smartphone market share.
